Cozette Bernal

Cozette Bernal, 73, of Parsons, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at her home.

She was born July 19, 1945 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Clarence Leon and Geraldine Gertrude (Trowbridge) Williams. She grew up and attended school in Cushing and was a 1963 graduate of Cushing High School.

While living in Cushing, Cozette worked at Valley Hope, an alcohol and drug treatment center. In 1986, she moved to Parsons where she attended Labette Community College and worked at Cedarvale Treatment Center. She later worked as an insurance agent for Farm Bureau Insurance until retiring.

She enjoyed arts, crafts, and dancing. Cozette especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

On April 14, 1990, she and Gabriel L. Bernal, Sr. were married in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2011.

One Son – Josh Taylor (Carol) of Parsons, KS

Two Daughters – Tricia Myers (Rodney Faulkenberry) of Oklahoma City, OK

Christie Myers (Kevin Lieffring) of Parsons, KS

Six Grandchildren – Shannan Stephens, Ryan Myers, Joshua Carter, Kristen Carter, Brittney Carter, and Colton Taylor

Two Sisters – Joyce Dahlke of Choctaw, OK

June Allen of Choctaw, OK

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Karr; and brother-in-law, J. D. Karr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2018 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
